Management of Shoulder Pain:

After a proper diagnosis shoulder pain might managed by different modalities based on diagnosis.

Conservative Management: With medicines, physiotherapy, exercises etc.

Intraarticular Injections: Different depo-steroid, ozone can be injected inside joint, bursa etc with very good results. These injections may be repeated few times when required.

Intraarticular Radio Frequency procedure: In different painful conditions not responding to other management Pulsed Intraarticular Radio Frequency procedure with very good result.

Suprascapular Nerve Block:

Radiofrequency procedure of suprascapular nerve is a very good option for different painful condition.

Common Causes:

Rotator Cuff Tendonitis:

This is one of the commonest causes of shoulder pain. Commonly associated with "painful arc", where middle part of shoulder abduction is painful. Sometime there is partial or complete tear of rotator cuff.

Subacromial Bursitis:

This is another common cause of shoulder pain. Inflammation of a pouch of synovial fluid which is located in the shoulder. It is most often caused by some sort of trauma or overuse of the shoulder. It is difficult to distinguish between subacromial bursitis and rotator cuff injury.

Adhesive Capsulitis:

Also called Frozen Shoulder with global restriction of movements.

Calcific Tendonitis:

Deposition of calcium in rotator tendon. Presents with similar symptoms.

Osteo-Arthritis:

Degenarative changed in the shoulder joint is not an uncommon cause of pain.
